HANNAH'S SMASH

Unique-wood-burning-design-project

Walnut Hollow® Products:

  • #38283 Creative Versa-Tool®

Other Supplies:

  • K & Company® SMASH® Journal
  • Alphabet stencil
  • Pencil
  • Iron-on crystals, clear and light green
  • Pliers
  • Tape

Instructions:

  1. After reading all manufacturers’ instructions found with the Creative Versa-Tool, use pliers to attach the Flow Point tightly on the tool. Secure the tool stand to the work surface with tape. Place the Creative Versa-Tool on the stand. Plug into an electric outlet, press the switch “On” and heat for four to five minutes. As always, it is best to practice on scrap paper before burning directly on your project.

  2. Using the Flow Point as you would a writing pen, slowly burn the cardboard cover following the de-bossed lines on the cardboard. Add dots in the center of the round portions of the flower design on the cover by holding the Creative Versa-Tool perpendicular to the surface. Place tip of point on the surface and burn the cardboard.

  3. For centers of each flower: place an iron-on crystal in the center, adhere each crystal by holding the tool perpendicular to the surface. Place the tip of the Flow Point on the top of the crystal and allow the heat to penetrate the crystal to melt the adhesive underneath. You will feel the adhesive melt.

  4. Use a pencil with the stencil letters to trace each letter of a name on the binding of the SMASH™ Journal. Using the Flow Point, burn each letter.

  5. Use the same technique as above with the crystals to create a 6 petal flower above and below the name on the binding. When complete, switch Creative Versa-Tool “Off”. Cool completely.
