FABRIC FLOWER CLOCK

Fabric-Flower-Clock

Walnut Hollow® Products:

  • #1618 Circle Pine Plaque
  • TQ810P Pendulum Clock, Small
  • Creative Drill

Other Supplies:

  • ¼ yd. fabric, coordinating fabric scrap
  •  6  Buttons (for clock numbers)
  •  1 Button (for flower center)
  •  Acrylic paint to match
  •  Gloss varnish
  •  Decoupage Medium
  •  1 yd. Trim
  •  Artificial flower
  • AA battery
  • Clear craft glue
  • Decorative edge scissors
  • Flat brush
  • Pencil
  • Sandpaper
  • Scissors

 

Instructions:

  1.  To prepare wood for painting, use sandpaper to lightly sand wood surface.  Remove dust with paper towel or soft cloth.

  2.  Use brush to apply paint to wood surface.  Let dry.

  3.  Apply one coat of varnish.  Let dry.

  4.  Using The Creative Drill, create a 3/8” hole in center of Plaque for the clock movement shaft. 

  5.  Use pencil to trace Plaque shape onto the wrong side of fabric.  Cut on traced line with scissors.  Adhere fabric to the front of clock with decoupage medium.

  6.  Trace a 3 1/2” circle onto fabric scrap.  Cut on traced line with decorative edge scissors.  Center and adhere circle to the front of clock with decoupage medium.  Cut hole with scissors.

  7.  Adhere trim around clock edge, covering the raw edge of fabric.

  8.  Glue buttons to clock for numbers. Glue flower to the Pendulum bob.  Glue button to center of flower.

  9.  Follow instructions on back of packaging to attach clock movement, Pendulum bob, and hands. Add battery.
